a fairy story, an elf tale, for my faerie friends and faerie artists

Beneath the canopy of the puerile dahlia leaves

I waited for you.

Along came a snail instead.

He nodded as he slithered along.

"Do elves cry too?" he asked.

"Not yet."

We had quite a lot of time to talk about it.

He left me in a trail of tears.

Beneath the fragrance of the teeming dahlia nectar

I waited for you.

Along came a butterfly instead.

She smiled as she fluttered about.

"Do elves dance too?" she asked.

"Not yet."

We only had a moment to talk about it.

Then she painted the sky with colors.

Beneath the fuchsia crown of the dahlia petals

I waited for you…
