Druids Occidental Cemetery

All photos copyright Stephen Martin

We were driving down to Occidental for lunch.
I saw an ancient cabin way down one of the sloping hills
amidst the cluster of redwoods.
"Pull over, Shelley," I said.
Stepping out of the car to find it proved futile...
I never saw the cabin again.
But a cemetery came into view while walking around...
which we'd overlooked while driving.

The presence of spirits was clear though we could not see them with our eyes.
